Carsten Schael is an award winning German photographer based in Hong Kong, China. He works for corporate, editorial and advertising clients in Asia. As a technical consultant and archivist, he advises on the set-ups of digital asset management systems and photo archives. Other consulting activities include photo production organization, project management, photo editing and photography training.
Among his many activities, Carsten served twice (1998-2000, 2010-2012) as President of the HKIPP (Hong Kong Institute of Professional Photographers). He was further serving on its executive committee in various capacities for over two decades. He is still involved in organising local and regional photography events. Since 2006 he contributes to several committees of the Foreign Correspondents' Club, Hong Kong. At the FCC he served six terms as a board member with responsibilities for House affairs, food and beverage, the club magazine, exhibitions and the FCC Archives.
